Law Enforcement Needs Powerheart AEDs

In our opinion, AEDs should be mandatory for police vehicles. Think of it:

  • Each year, approximately 365,000 people in North America fall victim to sudden cardiac arrest (SCA ). The only effective treatment for SCA is shock from a heart defibrillator, administered as soon as possible.
  • Law enforcement officers are usually first on the scene of a cardiac emergency – frequently before EMS. Few things are worse than watching a civilian suffer sudden cardiac arrest and being ill-equipped to help.
  • The life you save may well be that of a fellow officer. Between the high-risk of the job and the levels of stress, police officers are among the highest-risk groups for sudden cardiac arrest.

Firefighters and EMS responders use and trust Powerheart AEDs, and a number of law enforcement agencies including Orlando FL Police Department, Georgia Highway Patrol Capital Police Division, and Mt. Lebanon PA Police Department chose Powerheart AEDs to help protect their officers and their communities.

AED HeartSave, Cheryl anne DeHart, and Cardiac Science understand the challenges law enforcement agencies face. Budget constraints and state tax reforms may lead you to delay allocating funds for your AED deployment – if at all. So many initiatives require funding.
